OUR WORK
Working in service of a just future
OUR MISSION
Why we exist
Our mission is to advance racial justice by resourcing power within communities. Guided by the principles in our Change We Seek framework, we fund and work alongside leaders, organisations, and their communities, to build long-term, systemic change.

CHANGE WE SEEK
Our key principles
-
Racial justice is the pathway to community, power, and abundance that benefits everyone
-
Power is acting collectively and harnessing it for the purpose of a just future
-
Wealth is more than money – it is dignity, knowledge, community and joy
-
Holding complexity and multiple truths is key to how we learn and make informed choices
-
Committing to acting collectively before our personal preferences is how we hold ourselves accountable
LEARNING
Our learning approach
We work iteratively through reflective learning cycles as part of our programmatic approach. This enables us to hold complexity and be more emergent in our practice, course-correcting as we understand more. Our grant-making process was initially shaped through a set of learning questions, and has since evolved, as our understanding of the ecosystem has deepened.
- How will we know when communities are interconnected and operating from a position of strength and power owning their ability to thrive?
- How will we know when Tudor is operating in a way that centres racial justice in our systems thinking?
- How will we know when we are absorbing risk on behalf of the field building new systems?
- What becomes possible when healing and rest is centered?
- What does it take to create an ecosystem where multiple forms of resources and money flow to meet the ambitions of communities?
- What does it take to deepen relationships between racialised communities and those they are forming alliances with?
- How will we know when we are enabling good endings and renewal?
How we fund people and projects
Our grant decision-making is also held collectively by our staff, and not trustees as we believe that our whole community has a role to play in the stewardship of wealth.
How we steward our wealth
Our endowment is primarily ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) screened, with added pots in impact investment. Our investment strategy includes spending portions of our capital as well as our investment returns.
Our people & culture
In developing our culture, we have wanted to find ways to bring in different voices and skills into the organisation. Agreeing on a set of behaviours all of us should display helped us enable this shift and learn and work in emergence.
